Proofreading

Proofreading focuses on the bare minimum mechanical errors. It's really meant to just act as a clean up round. Sentence clarity, plot issues, tone—none of these are addressed through proofreading. I only recommend proofreading as the final step of the process, after all Copy and Line Editing has been completed, and it's meant to ensure all of the following errors have been caught and fixed.

Includes:

  • Spelling errors

  • Grammatical errors

  • Punctuation errors

  • Typographical errors

  • Verb tense usage and consistency

  • Pronoun usage and consistency
